Roland Martin Suspended By CNN After Making ‘Offensive’ Super Bowl Tweets
CNN has suspended political analyst Roland Martin for tweets during the Super Bowl that the network said were “offensive” and some critics said were homophobic encouragement of violence.
During the Super Bowl, Roland tweeted about a commercial that showed hunky David Beckham in underwear: “If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him.”
Roland apologized for what he called a misunderstanding, but that was not enough for CNN or GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) who demanded his removal from the news network.
The network announced today that Roland would be suspended for the mean time.
